These trees produced sweets that were brought to Palermo to cheer the evenings of the Palermitan nobility.<\/p><p>As early as 1942, the famous botanist Bonifacio wrote in his monograph on the pistachio that \u201c\u2026..near Raffadali there are 3 gigantic and beautiful pistachio specimens visited as botanical rarities and capable of producing around 200 kg of fruit each\u201d<\/p><p> <\/p><p>The historical importance of the product is demonstrated by numerous literary references;<\/p><ul><li>in the novel \u201cMid-Autumn Blues\u201d by the writer Santo Piazzese (Sellerio), it is said that the Raffadali pistachio was served with puff pastry canap\u00e9s and savoury mousses at the Edelweiss bar,<\/li><li>in \u201cThe Stone Crow\u201d by Marco Steiner (Sellerio publisher), it is indicated as an essential element of the cannoli recipe.<\/li><li>Camilleri&#8217;s novel &#8220;La Banda Sacco&#8221; tells the story of a humble family from Raffadale who manages to emerge thanks to the head of the family&#8217;s skill in growing pistachios (grafting and pruning the plant).<\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-top-column
